About Ms. T
Mary Thompson, who goes by "Ms. T," brings a unique blend of expertise in language, education, and communication sciences to her work as a Certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. She earned her Master of Arts in English and Linguistics from Texas A&M University, where she developed a strong foundation in language structure, literacy, and effective communication. Following graduate school, Ms. T taught research writing as well as Rhetoric and Composition at the college level, helping students strengthen their writing, critical thinking, and communication skills. Her experience as an educator continues to shape her collaborative and individualized approach to supporting learners of all ages.

Driven by a passion for helping individuals communicate more effectively, Ms. T later pursued her certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant through the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice in multiple states, including Colorado, Florida, and Washington.

For the four years before starting with Blossoming Minds Therapy, Ms. T provided virtual speech and language services to students across Washington state, working with children who have a wide range of communication needs. Through teletherapy, she has developed expertise in creating engaging, individualized treatment plans while partnering closely with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success. She is excited to now be part of a practice that offers both virtual and in-person services, allowing her to meet clients where they learn and communicate best.

Ms. T has a special interest in bilingual speech and language development, particularly in understanding the differences between language acquisition and communication disorders. She is also passionate about literacy, writing development, and helping students build confidence in both spoken and written communication. She believes that every individual deserves personalized, evidence-based support that celebrates their unique strengths and cultural background.

Outside of work, Ms. T enjoys staying active by running and skiing, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with her family.
