About Melanie

Melanie Esver is a speech-language pathologist who recently completed her clinical fellowship at Blossoming Minds Therapy. She obtained her Masters of Arts in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado, at Boulder in 2023. During her graduate program, Melanie completed her masters thesis in CU Boulder's CO Motor Speech Lab under the advisement of Doctor Allison Hilger, and continues to work alongside Dr. Hilger as they aim to publish their findings. Melanie gave presentations on the work she has done in the COMS Lab at the national ASHA conference in both 2021 and 2022. She has been passionate about speech in early intervention since working as a toddler preschool teacher after obtaining a B.A. in Linguistics from UCSC in 2018, which led her to where she is today. Melanie made the switch over to speech, language, and educational therapy from early intervention, in order to broaden her scope of practice. In addition to working at Blossoming Minds Therapy, Melanie also works as a cartoonist for The Informed SLP, and continues to explore new ways to expand her portfolio in digital illustration, including illustrating a children's book that will be published during the fall of 2024. Her clinical interests include early childhood communication, play based therapy, social communication, and motor speech disorders. Outside of the speech world, Melanie is often found hiking with her husband and pup, or creating animal-themed illustrations in her spare time.
